What's the name of this murder style?

I know this is a weird question, but I need to know. It's where you get a piece of wire and come up to the person from behind and cut/choke them with it until they die. It's called something like 'mary's necklace'. Or something along those lines. I can't remember the exact name and would love to know. I tried to make a reference to said killing style, and it's driving me batty that I can't remember it. help?
