A few years ago, my brother was fat and my grandma didn't like that so she offered him an iPod (she's pretty rich) if he lost some weight, which he did. What should my major be?

I love performing music in front of crowds, listening to music, and writing songs (even if they're corny lol). I love reading novels and traveling. And I like drawing and painting but not as much as I love music. Health science would be my second choice (either pre-med or a major in biochemistry to become a medical scientist, RN, or nurse practitioner). I really wanted to major in musicology or music performance but I have no clue if that would stick with me. I wouldn't want to end up flipping burgers or working in a diner if things didn't work out or if I'm not good enough to get into an orchestra or jazz band, etc. I know that I want to minor in African American Studies and Philosophy but the major thing I'm not so sure about. Maybe I should just stick with a solid health science career that pays well enough for me to make a living. I don't hate health science, I love it too but music was my first love. Maybe I should major in pre-med and minor in music and philosophy. What do you think?

Okay im the 2nd oldest of 5 kids. My brother whose the oldest has moved out so its just me and younger siblings. The youngest one is 8 and im 18, lately ive been staying at my friends house or my b.f house because im tired of babysitting my younger siblings. I feel ashamed and sick about it and I hate myself because of it. By the way, I am female. I've never done anything to hurt a child, and I never will. I am just tired of the attractions. Can I feed this to my hamster?

So I had some leftover fried fish and a piece of chicken cooked in curry today. I washed the chicken first before mashing it up with the fish, together with hamster food (powdered this), sugar, salt, cooked rice and boiled spinach. I then rolled the mixture (like cookie dough) into small balls and fed it to my hamster. He seems to like it. But is this good for him in the long run? I did this because he doesn't seem to be eating his commercial hamster food anymore. I think I've spoilt him by giving him meal worms every single day.

Possible rotator cuff operation needed or just physical therapy?

Back in December, I noticed severe pain in my upper arm/ shoulder region. An ultra sound revealed 4 lipo deposits ranging in size from 10 to 26 centimeters. I had them removed and they turned out benign. However, the pain still persists. The general practitioner who originally sent me to the ultra sound and later referred the operation, said that after looking at the ultra sound, I must have tendonitis and should see a physical therapist. I am wondering if it is a problem with rotator cuff 4 muscles in shoulder causing the problem. What are the chances I might need another operation? I lifted weights, am age 61 and wonder if the weight lifting caused the problem..thanks for your help.

Hiii... Lately my hair quality's descended.. I wonder why ! Recently got a new job that involves sitting in an Air-conditioned room and working on laptop all day long. My hair sees no sun. It has become very dry and rough. Humid temperature of my city spoils it even more whenever I am not at work. Hair is extremely dry after wash and starts becoming oily later in following 2 days. Head massage with warm coconut/almond oil gives me oily dandruff. Hair looks dull and has almost stopped growing below shoulder length. Suggest me a way out please ! I have never done any hair coloring or do not subject it to straightning or curling usually. Suggest me if I need to follow a certain diet plan. It depends. If the book is really good, I read as much of it as I can, until I get tired of reading. I'd say on average, I read about 30 or so pages in one sitting. Unless it's a short, interesting book, then I can probably read most of it in one sitting, then I get up and go do something else, and come back and finish. I am currently enrolled with The American College Of Healthcare Sciences in Portland, Oregon. in their Holistic Health Practitioner Program. They are the only school I found that is Nationally Accredited. And YES, you definitely need more than just to declare yourself one. Because eventually people with find out you don't know anything and file lawsuits against you. So, I'd go the educated route if I were you. A good program will teach you about all areas of Natural Health including the counseling that is involved and the legal and business aspects of it. I love the program I am enrolled in because it teaches practical application and allows you to specialize in different areas. The only grueling part for me was anatomy and physiology, but since you're a massage therapist, your ahead of the game! The program is 3 years, however you may be able to transfer some credits. Would ex get joint custody if he expects his mother to have the kids on his time?

I am in the process of creating a new parenting / custody / child support agreement, Ex currently does not have joint custody because of his hobbies and work. He wants to make it joint custody (I say because he doesn't want to pay the amount of child support he is suppose to pay) but what he wants to do I think is wrong. Since he is a spoiled POS of course his mother would help on this. He wants to have the boys every other night during the week, wake them up at 4am! and drop them off at 430am at his mom's so she can get them up at 630am and get them ready, etc. and drop them off at daycare at 730am before she goes to work. It is not her responsiblity and I don't think that is fair at all to my children to mess their schedule up like that. Would a court award him joint custody with this agreement? I think that is completely absord! My poor child need structure and I do not agree with them waking up one day at 4am then the next at 630am. I am NOT getting up at 4am every day so my kids could stay on that schedule plus they would want to go to bed at like 7pm if they did get up that early. so he says that would give him extra time with the kids but how is that? When they would want to go to bed at like 7pm instead of him dropping them off to me at 9pm. Would a judge in maryland go along with this?

Help with breastfed infant?

My daughter is 6.5 months old & she is very stuck to me all the time. It drives me batty at times. I feel like I can get nothing done plus . She does not let anyone (including her daddy) hold her. So I had a positive test the day after my expected period on 2 different tests. My boobs hurt so badly, I was thirsty, nauseous when I didn't eat, horny, and peeing every minute. Then I had light spotting and cramping 9 days later. I went to ER and the DR said hcg was 39, did pelvic exam, and nothing in ultrasound meaning I could be too early to see or I was about to miscarry. My boobs felt normal and all symptoms seem to stop with that bad news. So the next day I started bleeding and cramping really badly. On the 3rd day it felt like contractions! And I passed a clot that was reddish-black and gray. So I figured it was the sac. I went to my scheduled miscarriage appt the next day and the DR said my urine test was negative. He explained a lot to me but did not do ultrasound and said the urine test was very accurate. Then I went to my regular GYN for a different reason, pap, but I told her about the miscarriage and she said it was odd they didn't do an ultrasound but she didn't do one either! She did send blood work off to lab which I'm still waiting for and it's driving me batty =( I've read EVERYTHING the internet has to offer from Misdiagnosed Miscarriages to Subchorionic Hematomas to early bleeding in pregnancy to miscarriages. I just want to know what you think and what real experiences were? It's been almost 2 weeks and my boobs hurt again, horny, and I'm getting nauseous. I spotted brown a few times but nothing major. Am I ovulating? Pregnant? Crazy lol? Anything experience would be great!

How to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.?

I am a high school junior and am doing some research on careers. I live in Florida, and the college that I am really interested in is the University of Florida (GO GATORS.!). I have narrowed down my choices, and my number one choice is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. I understand they need an MSN. But how does that work? Do they go to just about any college (university or community college) they want, and get just a regular bachelors degree and an RN license, then take a break and work at a hospital for 2 years, THEN go to a university that offers a Masters degree program for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. If that's all correct, does the Master's Degree program have to be at the same college that you got your Bachelor's? Or can it be a totally different school? For example, can I get my bachelor's degree in nursing at Polk State College, work at Lakeland Regional Medical Center as an RN, then go to the University of Florida to do the Master Degree for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program? Or do I have to spend all of that time at the University of Florida?

I HATE my dog but I LOVE my fish. I think the fish are cuter and best of all they dont do all that annoying stuff my dog does. See, it was my moms before she died and my gramma took it in(i live with her) Over the years shes neglected giving it exercise and disciplining it. 7 year old whose dad is deploying soon is DRIVING ME BATTY?!?!?

My son is 7, and normally well behaved. He has an occasional tantrum, but it is normally short lived and he apologizes afterwards. But now my husband is leaving for Afghanistan in two weeks. I think that must be the reason he has been so incredibly grumpy lately. He gets upset over everything - and not whiny upset, but angry. He yells at everyone in the house. He bullies his sister. I've tried rewarding good behavior. I've tried punishing bad behavior. I've tried talking to him about what is bothering him. Nothing has worked. Why is my mom so mean for no reason?

She calls me dumb and annoying. Okay so Im having some trouble with the group of people I hang out with. I was starting online college to get my Bachelor's but online classes weren't clicking for me so I ended up switching to a local college and started studying Medical Assisting. This college program is an accelerated program so I have a lot of work to do. Around this time I started working at Walmart as well so I have had very little free time since I started school/work and I like to spend that time with my girlfriend. If the medicine doesnt come from a life source or naturally occuring, then dont take it. Herbs will help you, just google natural remedies or holistic herbs. Why did Kobe make the All-Defensive First Team?

Kobe doesn't have the statistical production to warrant it. He doesn't regularly guard the opposing team's best perimeter scorer. That job is done by Artest, Fisher or by committee. I always thought the person officiating the wedding and the two people getting married were most important. I'd probably laugh if someone told me otherwise. Yeah...this generation/society have become jaded and desentisized to the glorious effects of today's movies. I haven't though. I LOVE slow building horror movies that favors suspense and atsmoshere over blood and gore ANY DAY! But I have a guilty pleasure spot for cheesy bloody over the top torture porn laden with CGI. lol. People don't like Transformers because they are embarrased to admit that they enjoy a mindless summer popcorn flick that doesn't require thinking. It's nothing to be ashamed of, people. It's a movie for ENTERTAINMNET! Go watch some slow Oscar caliber flick if you want intellectual growth during your movie watching. I'm a fan of deep mind benders, but I also know how to let my guards down and enjoy the awesome visuals of a braindead blockbuster! I LOVED watching Transformers 1 in the theaters, and I thought part two was okay when I rented it from Hastings. Not as good as one though. I'll definately be checking out Dark of the Moon. It opens on my birthday! June 29th! People seem to bash Michael Bay's films for being action over thought provoking, but if his movies suck, then why do they make millions upon millions of dollars? Hemust be doing something right! Even the horror remakes he's been involved with...The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre...were very successful. Two of his movies....Armageadon and The Rock...have even been added to The Criterion Collection...a movie company that specializes in art house films filled with deep thought and social messages of the time. I still appreciate the CGI of Jurassic Park, T2: Judgement Day, and Lord of the Rings. I know the film makers take alot of time and money into making them look as awesome as they do in the movies. :D

My older snobbish cousin is having a graduation party for graduating high school. Everyone is my family is so happy for him and stuff but me and my twin sister just graduated eighth grade and nobody knows. How can i get my dachshund to listen?

Did you find the book "Witch School" by Debbie Tompkins a good learning guide?

I have heard other Wiccan say to stay away from llewellyn but i find similarities between it and cunningham's book for the solitary practitioner. Witch School described things nicely from the first chapter. Cunningham as my first book, let me know to follow the way I feel best suited. I havn't read all of the witch school book yet but is it really that bad? Even if it may be focused on a certain 'way' don't others think it's a fine place to study a bit? I mean it gave me such a wonderful thought about how water has been here from the beginning and that same water makes up most of our body. I find it nice so far. as long as you are teaching her responsibility as well. It sounds like you are so there should be no problems. does she earn these treats ; like completing her chores etc; if so then you are doing everything right; I insisted my boys took ten percent of what they received [ cash wise] and banked it . If they got $100 , they banked $10.00 of it . That also taught them about saving for the things they want. It doesn't hurt to occasionally say no either. As we mature we then get to learn we won't always get our way and some things have to be earned and worked towards. Should I become a R.D. or go into an alternative medicine profession?

I am in my early twenties, doing restaurant work as a baker. I am unfulfilled because I have a bachelor's degree in science and have had an interest in nutrition since high school. I LOVE cooking and baking and went to culinary school for this, but I want to help people in another way, still involving food. I believe in the saying, "Let food by thy medicine, thy medicine shall be thy food." The problem is I see dietitians sometimes as food gurus giving clients a list of dos and don'ts, and honestly I don't agree with this. I see the client as a whole, who may come to a dietician for a weight, or food-related problem, but who would actually benefit more from a homeopathic, exercise, eastern medicine, or alternative medicine advice. From research I have been doing, it seems hard to be a credible practitioner in these fields, without a valid medical degree in Western science. But, I cannot se myself as a Western doctor, at the same time I cannot see myself just as a R.D., without extensive medical knowledge of the human body. I guess I am torn between Eastern and Western medicine, but ultimately, I want to be a preventative focused doctor, rather than a reactionary doctor if that makes sense. I know that I am a good listener, and can deal with many types of people, and I have a great interest in science, but I am truly a chef and musician at heart. I didn't mean to throw that curveball in there, but maybe now you can understand me a bit better. I don't like much working for a boss, as I see myself as an entrepreneur and leader. How would I ever get through a traditional medical school like this? I question all figures of authority and find that other students rarely have the level of enthusiasm I have for the subject we are learning. Perhaps, I am best suited NOT to go back to school, and be the chef and musician I am, but I believe in 10 years, I will want to push my science knowledge and help others in another way. Please give any advice for this lost 20-something year old, if possible. Gracias.
