Why did Kobe make the All-Defensive First Team?

Kobe doesn't have the statistical production to warrant it. He doesn't regularly guard the opposing team's best perimeter scorer. That job is done by Artest, Fisher or by committee. And when he has been forced to guard other top swingmen (Durant, Wade, LeBron, Ellis etc.), he's usually failed to hold them below their point and percentage averages. Given his declining athleticism and lingering injuries, he no longer has the physicality to be a lockdown perimeter defender Clearly, Kobe made the all-defensive team on reputation alone. On merit, there are at least a half dozen other more deserving of that guard spot the all-defensive team. I think first team should've gone to Wade and second team to Tony Allen.
