Comfortable career/salary for rural area?

The salaries that you listed must not apply in the area where you live or the average person would make more than the $17,000 you indicated or there are no jobs in the area like the ones you listed. Average people making $17,000 p/yr or Families making $32,000 can not support the high wages you are showing for random careers. Those figures must be for larger metropolitan areas. To do actual research you need to" interview"local people working in your field of interest and find out how long they have been in the field, how much they made starting out,what is the demand for services in that field etc. Good Luck
