Who has a short-tempered easily irritated father? And how do I not let it get to me?

My dad is always angry these days. Just a couple of days ago he put me in a bad mood, and this morning he's done it again. He has been like this for the past 7, nearly 8 months now. I want to know who has an irritating father? Because sometimes I really do get tired of him always breaking down my self-esteem. He can start a fight out of almost anything. A couple of days ago I was getting ready to have a nice night out, and then he went and got into a bad mood and ruined my mood and it kinda spoilt the whole thing for me. How do I not let it get to me like this again?
